MCT oil powder in powder form and a water-dispersion demonstration
Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), also known as medium-chain fatty acid triglycerides, consist of one glycerol molecule and three medium-chain fatty acid molecules. Put simply, they are triglycerides formed from saturated medium-chain fatty acids with carbon-chain lengths of C6-C12 [1].

A triglyceride consists of fatty acid portions and a glycerol portion
MCTs occur at relatively low levels in nature. Their main sources include palm oil, coconut oil, milk and dairy products. Caprylic acid (C8H16O2) and capric acid (C10H20O2) are the principal medium-chain fatty acids, and MCTs are more readily digested than many other types of fat. Approximately 3 g of MCTs are found in 100 g of butter and about 2 g in 100 g of fresh cream. Coconut oil contains approximately 14%, palm oil approximately 7%, and cow's milk and breast milk approximately 1%-3%.
MCT oil is a liquid composed entirely of medium-chain triglycerides and is usually separated from coconut oil and palm oil. Typical MCT oil is odorless, tasteless, colorless or slightly brown.

MCTs may reduce body-fat accumulation and help maintain a healthy body weight. In many European and North American countries, they have been used in dietary programs for people with obesity, with favorable results. Numerous experiments suggest that MCTs play a significant role in weight management.

MCT Oil (Coconut) Powder is a white to almost-white or yellow free-flowing powder containing MCT oil that is homogenized and encapsulated with different carriers. The product is neutral in taste and odor and is dispersible in cold water.
1 | Emulsification/Homogenization technology | The use of shear technology and emulsification/homogenization creates nanoscale droplets of MCT oil to support more complete absorption and utilization by the body. |
2 | Quality systems | Produced under FSSC 22000, cGMP and ISO 9001. |
3 | Multi-stage agglomeration and instant dispersibility | Multi-stage agglomeration technology improves particle characteristics and instant dispersibility, further enhancing stability and reducing caking. |
4 | Vegetarian formulation | Coconut oil (Arabic gum) / Palm oil as wall materials . |
5 | Microbiological control | An instantaneous sterilization system combined with a cold-spray process helps strictly control microbiological indicators. |
6 | Automated production and process control | Fully automated production and advanced computer-based central control help ensure batch-to-batch stability and product quality. |
The powder is widely used in dry mixes, solid beverages, bakery foods, sauces, nutritional fortifiers and other applications.
